FAQs

What is Contrast Therapy?

Contrast therapy is a technique that involves alternating between hot and cold temperatures to enhance recovery and stimulate circulation. At The Lodge, this can be achieved through interchangeable cycles of our infrared saunas and cold plunge pools.

What is Cold Plunge therapy?

Cold plunge therapy involves immersing your body in cold water (40 - 45 degrees) for cycles of 1 - 3 minutes. This practice can improve muscle recovery, reduce muscle soreness, enhance circulation, and potentially boost your immune system.

How does Infrared Sauna work?

Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit radiant heat, which is absorbed by the skin. This type of sauna can promote relaxation, detoxification, and may have therapeutic effects on muscles and joints.

How long should I stay in the Cold Plunge pool?

For beginners, we recommend starting with 1-3 minutes in the cold plunge pool. You can gradually increase your time as you become more accustomed to the experience. Our staff is always on hand to guide you and ensure a safe and beneficial session.

How frequently can I undergo these therapies?

The frequency of sessions can depend on individual preferences and health goals. It's advisable to start with moderate frequency and adjust based on how your body responds.

Are the sauna and cold plunge tubs suitable for everyone?

While many people can safely enjoy the benefits of saunas and cold plunge tubs, they're not suitable for everyone. We advise against using them if you're pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you have health concerns, we recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before participating.

Do I need to book in advance for a session?

Yes, we recommend booking your session in advance to ensure availability. You can easily book through our website, mobile app, over the phone, or in person at our location. While we welcome walk-ins, please note that immediate availability cannot be guaranteed.

What should I wear and bring for these therapies?

It's recommended to wear swimwear or comfortable workout clothing suitable for the specific therapy.
